Rehabilitation of a Young Patient with Hypoplastic Dentition –A Case Report.
- Patient reported to the Department of Prosthodontics with a chief complaint of discoloured teeth
- The intraoral photographs of the patient reveals yellowish discolouration of teeth with generalized
- On thorough clinical examination it was found that patient has enamel hypoplasia.

- The patient was guided into centric relation and it was mounted on a semi- adjustable
- The articulator was programmed using protrusive and lateral interocclusal
- Full mouth wax up was done
- Putty index was made of the waxed-up cast and with the help of the index composite mock-up was done intraorally.
- The aesthetic evaluative mock-up provides the best aesthetic, phonetic and functional outcome and allows for better communication with the patient and laboratory
- Impression was made of the adjusted mock-up and then it was mounted on a semi-adjustable
- Customized anterior guide table was fabricated using pattern resin performing eccentric movements i.e. protrusive, right lateral and left
- The preparation should be conservative which is the main principle governing the fabrication of ceramic
- We start with the tooth preparation using the mock-up in place. Horizontal depth grooves were made using depth
- The thickness of the ceramic laminate should be 3-0.5mm
- A chamfer finish line is given and a bevel is given at the incisal edge to give a butt joint.

- Gingival retraction was done using 000 knitted retraction cord
- Double mix double step impressions were made using PVS elastomeric impression material
- After the preparation stump shade selection was done using VITA stump shade guide.
- Lithium disilicate glass ceramic was fabricated for maxillary and mandibular Lithium disilicate (Emax) is an aesthetic, high strength material that can be conventionally cemented or adhesively bond.
- Lithium disilicate is among the best known glass
- Calibra esthetic resin cement was used for the bonding of laminates.
- Thoroughly clean all internal surfaces of the veneer with water spray and Etch the surface of the restoration with porcelain etch. Clean with water spray and dry.
- Apply calibre silane to the Air dry the silanated surface of the restoration. Apply a single coat of Prime and bond NT adhesive to the internal surface of the veneer. Air dry for 5 sec. Light cure adhesive for 10 sec.
- Apply Prime & bond adhesive to tooth surface. The surface should remain wet for 20 sec. Gently air dry for 5 sec. light cure adhesive for 10
- Dispense the desired calibra veneer Apply it on the veneer. Protect cement from exposure to light.
- Seat the Tack the restoration in place by briefly light curing the gingival portion only for no more than 10 seconds. Remove excess cement.
- Light cure all marginal areas for 20 seconds from each direction – buccal, lingual and interproximal
- Removal of excess cement flash and finishing of the margins if
- Immediately after post insertion
- Posterior tooth preparations were completed to receive Porcelain fused to Metal restorations.
