Pre-treatment dental evaluation helps eliminate sources of infection and reduce the risk of serious complications. During chemotherapy and radiotherapy, dentists manage conditions such as oral mucositis, xerostomia, infections, and pain, improving patient comfort and treatment compliance. Post-treatment care focuses on oral rehabilitation and long-term monitoring. Additionally, a maxillofacial prosthodontist further enhances patient rehabilitation through implant dentistry by restoring facial defects, oral function, aesthetics, and overall quality of life in cancer survivors. This talk emphasizes the need to spread awareness about this emerging specialty and its vital role in comprehensive oncology care.
