7 Ways to Get Rid of Yellow Teeth

Easy Home Remedies for the Perfect Set of Bright White Teeth
WHAT CAUSES YELLOWNESS OF TEETH?

The yellowness of teeth hasn’t just been associated with lowering your self-confidence and appearance of your smile but it also is associated with degrading and hampering the well-being of someone’s mouth or/and a signal for an underlying dental complication.

The yellowness of teeth could be due to multiple reasons such as the following-

Dental Fluorosis– When the intake of fluoride before the age of 8 is more than the accepted value, it causes a defect in one’s teeth causing fluorescent spots, weakened teeth, transparent teeth and yellowness of teeth in Mild Fluorosis or Brown and defected teeth in Severe Fluorosis.

Tooth grinding– Tooth clenching or grinding is an unconscious movement disorder also called Bruxism which leads to enamel wearing off and hence resulting in yellowness of teeth.

Tetracycline Antibiotics– The usage of Tetracycline Antibiotics; which is primarily used for a bacterial infection or treating pneumonia, before the age of 8 leads to permanently stained teeth. Else if a mother uses these antibiotics during her second trimester the baby would end up with permanently stained teeth too.

Smoking– Smoking and usage of other tobacco products lead to several periodontal infections too. It leads to the weakening of gums as well and ultimately loss of tooth. Due to wear and tear of gums one gets prone to having yellow teeth

Coffee, Tea, Wine and Soda– Consuming these beverages leads to gradual staining and yellowing of teeth

Genetics– Genetics could very well play a role in being a reason for yellowish teeth. If your parents have yellow teeth then it is very likely that you’ll have yellow teeth too

Consuming Sugar– The acidic nature of this table condiment leads to the erosion of your enamel and teeth which leads to yellowness.

7 HOME REMEDIES TO GET RID OF YELLOW TEETH

Whiter and brighter teeth are something that each and everyone around the globe wishes for commonly. A perfectly white smile is an instant confidence booster. Here are a few easy steps that you can do to achieve a white smile if you have mildly yellow teeth.

 Sodium Bicarbonate and Hydrogen Peroxide

Use a paste of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide by mixing 1 tablespoon of Baking soda and 2 tablespoons of Hydrogen Peroxide. Do not forget to wash your mouth thoroughly afterwards. Using this paste removes stains and prevents plaque build-up.

 Lemon, Orange, Banana and Guava

It is often said that rubbing Lemon, Banana and orange peel on teeth removes the yellow film on teeth making them whiter. Also using the guava leaf, the citrus nature of these peels helps whiten one’s teeth. Gently rubbing the peel/leaf on your teeth for 2 minutes every session will certainly work wonders. Be mindful about the eroding gums and enamel due to the citric nature of these resources. If your teeth feel sensitive do not use it at all. These are natural remedies, they might be helpful for some, might won’t help some individuals

 Coconut Oil Pulling

This technique claims to remove the plaque in one’s teeth and prevents bacteria build-up. Buy organic and high-quality coconut oil, take 1-2 tablespoons and swish it for about 20-30 minutes in your mouth. Do not swallow or let the oil come in contact with the back of your throat as there is a lot of plaque and bacteria in it. Now spit it out, rinse your mouth with water and brush your teeth.

 Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar Mouthwash is a good alternative too. It is generally used in small amounts to whiten one’s teeth. To make an Apple Cider mouthwash, mix 2 tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar with 150ml of water and rinse your mouth with it twice a day. Although this should only be used for a short period as this could cause potential harm to the enamel and teeth.

Activated charcoal

Activated Charcoal is a very good option to remove stains from teeth. Activated charcoal is highly absorbent & removes stains from one’s teeth. You can use an activated charcoal toothpaste daily to whiten your teeth. Leading toothpaste brands have a activated charcoal toothpaste in their line-up. We recommend using such brands as they are extensively researched before launching into market
