Bleeding gums have been a regular problem amongst many people all around the globe. Some have carved a way to get rid of it and some would face it for their entire lives. There are several causes of bleeding gums and may vary from person to person. Bleeding gums can be easily prevented and managed if the cause has been clearly established. Brushing teeth too hard is one of the most common causes of bleeding gums. This happens because hard brushing can damage blood vessels in the gums, leading to bleeding.

Bleeding Gums can be cured easily. Following are 5 easy ways to prevent the Bleeding of gums.

A Healthy & Balanced Diet:
Significant Researches have concluded that Bleeding of gums can be primarily due to deficiency of vitamin in the body. Hence, adding of Foods which have suitable amount of Vitamin in them can prevent the gums from Bleeding. Whole grains, vegetables, and fruits containing vitamin C, can be paramount in the prevention of bleeding gums. Refined sugar is one of the reasons why an infection in the mouth is likely to occur which eventually results in swollen & bleeding gums. Milk Products like Curd (Dahi) or a glass of Milk early morning would contribute towards strong teeth as it contains Calcium in it.

A Healthy Diet is not measured by the most expensive food that you eat but is measured by the intake of all the vital nutrients that your body needs when planning a healthy diet.

Learn the Art of Brushing teeth Correctly
There are several Videos on YouTube which help you to learn how to brush your teeth Correctly. Don’t be Very Harsh whilst brushing your teeth. The Bristles are made of up of plastic which might easily affect the soft gums that you have. Here’s your quick guide on how to brush teeth the right way. Follow these simple steps Methodically and see the results yourself.

Place your toothbrush at a 45-degree angle to the gums.
Gently move the brush back and forth in short (tooth-wide) strokes.
Brush the outer surfaces, the inner surfaces, and the chewing surfaces of the teeth.
To clean the inside surfaces of the front teeth, tilt the brush vertically and make several up-and-down strokes.
Use of Fluoride Toothpaste
Yes, the toothpaste’s that have being marketed these days are very intimidating. The bubble gum flavour or the Mint Flavour sound tasty and would give us a reason to brush our teeth for some more time! But the Million Dollar Question is, do they really help to keep a healthy oral Hygiene? The answer to this is Checking the Fluoride Content in it. Fluoride does wonders as it keeps our Teeth Free from Plaque. Plaque results in Bad Mouth Odour, Tooth Decay and Gum Dispraises.

Brush your teeth at least twice daily with Adequate amount of Fluoride toothpaste and see the results yourself.

Use a Soft Toothbrush and Replace It Regularly:
The bristles from your Toothbrush can do severe damage to your innocent gums. The gums are so soft that even a slightest prick would result in gum Bleeding. Hence its always advised to use a Toothbrush that has soft bristles. Select a toothbrush that fits correctly for your teeth.  A bigger toothbrush would also result in damage to the gums.

After a certain period, usually not more than 60 days, the toothbrush should be replaced with a new one. Long periods of toothbrush usage make the bristles wear off and become ineffective. Older the toothbrush higher are the chances of it getting infected. Infections can lead to bleeding gums.

Visiting a Dentist Regularly
Everyone tries to be their own dentist. A dentist is a specialist who has dedicated years of his life in understanding everything related to our mouth and teeth. A Dentist is a professional and visiting them is a must. Bleeding of gums can be due to several other reasons. If you are suffering from Gingivitis, then it shouldn’t be considered as your regular Gum Disease. Detection of any severe gum related issue at early stage can be beneficial to you in the long run. Frequent gum bleeding can also indicate more serious conditions, including periodontitis (an advanced form of gum disease).

Remember it all starts from your mouth. Be wise, visit the Dentist Regularly and live a Happy and Healthy lifestyle.
