What are Mouth Ulcers? 

 Mouth Ulcers often referred to as Canker sores or even referred to as Aphthous Ulcers are small lesions or blisters that are formed on the soft tissue of the mouth. These are painful and usually last for about a week or two. The reasons aren’t known but the triggers are identifiable. Mouth Ulcers are painful but hurt more while talking, drinking, eating etc. In most cases, Mouth ulcers last for about a week or two. But the persistent occurrence of mouth ulcers could be a sign to be concerned for. Visit your dentist and get the ulcers diagnosed.  

 Triggers for Mouth Ulcers 

 Mouth Ulcers, is usually not due to a particular reason and the exact cause is hard to be diagnosed but the triggers for the occurrence of Mouth Ulcers are pretty much identifiable. Triggers include Hypersensitivity, Infection, Hormonal Imbalance, Stress, and not getting enough of some vitamins. In the majority of the people, there is no known cause for Mouth ulcers, in a certain amount of people these ulcers could be due to an underlying Iron, Vitamin B or Folate.

What are the symptoms of Mouth Ulcers? 

The symptoms of a mouth ulcer can vary. The symptoms occur depending upon the cause usually. For different people, Ulcers may aggravate due to various reasons that could probably be the following. 

One or more than one painful sore  
Swollen tissues around the Sores 
Problems and irritation while chewing or tooth brushing because of the tenderness 
Irritation of the sores due to salty, spicy or sour foods 
Loss of appetite. 
Mouth Ulcers generally occur on the softer mouth linings of the lips, cheeks, sides of the tongue, floor of the mouth, back of the roof of the mouth and around the tonsil area. You may develop more than one ulcer at a time, and sometimes these ulcers are joined together.
