Integrated Aesthetic Smile Rehabilitation: A Multidisciplinary Approach — Lip Debulking & Veneer-Assisted Space Closure

Porcelain veneers were first bonded to close spacing and re-establish ideal tooth width, form, and proportion, creating a finalized dental framework. Crown lengthening and frenectomy were then performed to refine gingival architecture and eliminate the frenal pull contributing to the midline space. Finally, lip debulking was carried out surgically under general anesthesia to reduce excess labial tissue. Each step was sequenced to build upon the newly established smile design.

2. Frenectomy for Stability – Removing the aberrant frenal attachment addressed a common etiological factor in diastema recurrence, safeguarding long-term veneer results.
3. Crown Lengthening for Symmetry – Recontouring gingival levels corrected uneven tooth display and gummy smile components, harmonizing pink and white aesthetics.
4. Framework-Guided Debulking – Finalizing tooth form and gingival architecture first allowed precise, conservative lip tissue reduction calibrated to the new smile design.
5. True Multidisciplinary Synergy – Prosthodontics, periodontics, and oral surgery converged sequentially, proving smile design can dictate surgical planning, not just follow it.
