Osteoradionecrosis – An Update |Recorded Video

OBJECTIVE: Radiotherapy is an invaluable component of head and neck cancer therapy. One of the dreaded complications is osteoradionecrosis, where there is irreversible bone damage and loss in the maxilla or mandible. Although with newer modalities of radiotherapy delivery, the incidence of osteoradionecrosis remains low, it is still a clinically significant problem. This session will cover the etiology and pathogenesis of osteoradionecrosis, along with the diagnosis, management and newer aspects of this clinically challenging entity that dentists and doctors are likely to encounter.
