MDS., (PhD) Maxillofacial Prosthodontist & Implantologist

Dr. Hemamalini Balaji is a distinguished Prosthodontist and academician with a passion for clinical excellence and teaching. She completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Saveetha Dental College and Hospitals, Chennai, graduating with an Overall Gold Medal in 2017. She went on to pursue her Masters in Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge from Sri Ramachandra Faculty of Dental Sciences, where she was awarded the prestigious Dr. B.P. Rajan Gold Medal for academic excellence.

Her exceptional academic journey has been recognized with the Best Student Award for Merit by the Pierre Fauchard Academy – India Section, and she also received accolades for the maximum number of undergraduate publications from Saveetha Dental College. Dr. Hemamalini was the Runner-up of the Indian Dental Diva Awards 2018 in two categories – Passionate Prosthodontist and Passionate Pedodontist. She has also been honored with the Best Clinician Award by the Alumni Association of Saveetha Dental College and received the Best Emerging Dental Practice Award at the ICON Awards 2022.With over 25 publications in esteemed indexed medical journals and reviewer roles in five plus  peer-reviewed journals, she continues to contribute actively to dental research. Her primary interests lie in material science in implantology and maxillofacial rehabilitation. A recipient of multiple accolades, Dr. Hemamalini was recently awarded the Young Achiever Award in Prosthodontics (2024) by the IDA Thiruvalluvar Branch in recognition of her exceptional contributions to Prosthodontic education and her notable achievements at a young age.

With over 6 years of clinical experience and a strong flair for teaching, she is widely appreciated for her charismatic delivery, evidence-based approach, and commitment to excellence. Her sessions are known to blend clinical insight with practical tips, making them valuable for both students and practicing clinicians.Dr. Hemamalini with her passion for teaching and sharing knowledge ventured into her academic career . She has 3 years of teaching experience  to her role as an Assistant Professor. Her commitment to research has led her to pursue a PhD at SRM University, further solidifying her dedication to advancing the field of Prosthodontics.
