Dr. Otto Zuhr, DMD, PhD, is Associate Professor at Department of Periodontology, Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität Frankfurt, and together with Dr. Marc Hürzeler, runs Hürzeler/Zuhr Academy, a worldclass center for education and training in microsurgery dedicated to periodontology and implant dentistry, in Munich, Germany. With more than 25 years of clinical
and teaching experience, Dr. Zuhr has innovated several periodontal and peri-implant surgical techniques (modified microsurgical tunnel technique, socket-shield technique, pre-extractive interradicular implant bed preparation, 3D digital volumetric measurement of gingival dimensions), suturing (double-sling and doublecrossed sutures) and microsurgical instruments (Touchgrip instruments).
