Here are 8 ways how you can keep your Teeth Healthy

Brush thoroughly before going to bed
Keep this as your thumb rule towards achieving your goal. 70% of the Population either neglect or are too lazy to brush their teeth before going to bed. Imagine the food particles from your Lunch, an evening snack and Dinner being accumulated and not gotten rid of?  brushing before bed gets rid of the germs and plaque that accumulate throughout the day.

Brush Slowly and Properly. Remember they are your own set of Teeth
Brushing doesn’t mean applying paste to the brush and merely start brushing. It’s better not to do something without the dedication than to do it for the sake of it. Before you start brushing your teeth remember to have 2 cups of warm water empty stomach as this helps you to get rid of the foul smell you sense while brushing. Take your time, move the toothbrush in gentle, circular motions to remove plaque. Brushing doesn’t only mean the lower arch and the upper arch but also covering the inner most areas of your mouth. Unremoved plaque can harden, leading to calculus build up and gingivitis (early gum disease).

Do not even think of neglecting your Tongue
Plaque is something that can be built up anywhere within the mouth. Having said that, it can also build up on your tongue. Not only does it lead to bad mouth odour but also Stickiness on your tongue, change of tongue colour etc. It can lead to other oral health problems too. Gently brush your tongue every time you brush your teeth.

Time to keep Plaque at bay.

Use a bestselling fluoride Toothpaste
Don’t Compromise on the quality of the toothpaste. A toothpaste doesn’t really get its fame because of its taste but, its mainly because of the years of Clinical Research and Trials it goes through before finally being launched in the market. No matter which version you choose, make sure it contains fluoride. Fluoride comes to the rescue by fighting germs which can lead to decay as well as providing a protective barrier for your teeth.

Consider a Mouthwash too
Most the people feel that a Mouthwash is meant to be good for nothing. This is not at all true. Sometimes, it’s difficult to reach the interiors of the mouth and here’s where your mouthwash will help. Use an appropriate quantity of mouthwash at least once a day to reach the corner most areas of your mouth. Children need to use a specific mouthwash (Your Pharmacist or Dentist Can help you identify the right mouthwash) as they have sensitive teeth. A Mouthwash is a must for people with disabilities and who face difficulty to brush their teeth.

Drink a lot of Water
Yes, Beer is cool, but nothing can be compared to water, the best Beverage for your health, especially for your oral Hygiene. Drink lots of water, inculcate the habit of drinking water 15 minutes post every meal to remove any sticky particles left behind while having the meal.

Limit Food with excessive sugar and acid
Ultimately, sugar converts into acid in the mouth, this acid can then erode the enamel of your teeth. This is what ultimately leads to cavities. Acidic fruits, teas, and coffee can also wear down tooth enamel. It would certainly be very difficult to completely avoid the consumption of these foods, giving a try would help in your favour today or soon. Afterall, your teeth, Your responsibility

Visit your Dentist once in every 3 Months
It’s so difficult to pay the dentist only to hear him tell you what not to do right? Well, consider it as an investment. S(he) has taken at least 5 years to be qualified to treat you. Let’s respect that. Better to pay little now than to spend exorbitant amounts behind sheer negligence towards our very own teeth.

Lastly, taking the thirsty horse towards the Pond is our duty, drinking water is his, don’t let your negligence hamper your Smile.
