Postmortem Dental Profiling

Objective:

Forensic odontologist play an important role in identification of victims of crime and disaster with the help of  ante mortem dental records. If AM dental records are not available, the forensic odontologist analysis the parameters like ethnicity, age, sex, socioeconomic status by examination of oral cavity during oral autopsy. This process of recovering required information from the unknown body for the purpose of positive identification is the main objective of PM dental profiling. This type of profiling is less time consuming, cost effective and relatively accurate.
