Digital technologies are transforming oral and maxillofacial surgery by enhancing diagnostic accuracy, surgical planning, and treatment predictability. This talk explores the applications of cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT), three-dimensional imaging, virtual surgical planning, CAD/CAM, three-dimensional printing, patient-specific implants, and computer-assisted navigation in contemporary maxillofacial practice. Their role in orthognathic surgery, facial trauma, TMJ surgery, and craniofacial reconstruction will be highlighted. Emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and augmented reality, offer further opportunities to improve surgical precision and patient-specific outcomes. The discussion will also address challenges related to accessibility, cost, and clinical validation in integrating digital workflows into routine practice.
