OBJECTIVE : 

After completing this lecture the participant should be able to have a greater understanding of treatment options for spaced tooth and their limitations, the role of optical illusion in treatment planning and the prognosis of the restorations in different situations. 

Spaced and Crowded dentition is commonly found in the esthetic zone. Many forms of treatments can be used to treat the space problem of teeth caused by insufficient space or multiple spacing within the dental arch. A careful analysis of patients with dental crowding or spacing is necessary to determine the most appropriate treatment of each individual case. Clinical considerations, advantages, disadvantages, and alternative treatment modalities for spacing conditions and different clinical cases will be presented to illustrate the application of these techniques.
