OBJECTIVE :
After completing this lecture the participant should be able to have a greater understanding of teledentistry and its use during Covid times.
Telemedicine is conveyance of health care across the globe using the information-based technologies and communication systems. This entire process of networking, sharing digital information, distant consultations, workup, and analysis when applied to field of Dentistry is known as “Teledentisty.” The Teleconsultation, telediagnosis, tele triage, and telemonitoring are subsections of tele dentistry. Every new venture is accompanied with various shortcoming. Even the acceptance of tele dentistry both by the dentists as well as patients is low which needs to be addressed so that effective timely care can be given to all Dental patients.
