TMD and its relevance to general and speciality practise

Objectives- Gone are the days where the art of diagnosing and treating TMD disorders was left only to the specialists. The current evidence shows that Temporomandibular joint disorders are multifactorial which mandates that it is very important to identify the etiology before doing any irreversible treatment. TMD diagnosis is very important as it can make or break a restorative case. This presentation gives a brief outline of the various etiologies and its the clinical presentations and why is it must that every dentist should be aware of this inorder to have a successful clinical practise.
