Regenerative Endodontics Simplified: Everything the Clinician Needs to Know

Regenerative endodontics has transformed the management of immature permanent teeth with pulpal necrosis by shifting the treatment paradigm from conventional apexification toward biologically based tissue regeneration. Rooted in the principles of tissue engineering, regenerative endodontic procedures (REPs) aim not only to eliminate infection but also to promote continued root development, strengthen dentinal walls, facilitate apical closure, and potentially restore the vitality of the pulp–dentin complex. Over the past two decades, significant advances in stem cell biology, biomaterials, growth factors, and clinical protocols have expanded both the scientific understanding and clinical applicability of these procedures.

This webinar will provide a comprehensive, evidence-based overview of regenerative endodontics, beginning with its biological foundations and historical evolution before exploring current concepts in case selection, clinical protocols, irrigation strategies, intracanal medicaments, scaffold systems, and coronal sealing. The session will critically compare recommendations from the American Association of Endodontists (AAE) and the European Society of Endodontology (ESE), discuss expected clinical outcomes, success criteria, common complications, and their management, and examine emerging innovations including platelet concentrates, biomimetic scaffolds, cell-based therapies, and regenerative approaches in mature teeth. Emphasis will be placed on translating contemporary evidence into practical clinical decision-making, enabling clinicians to confidently incorporate regenerative endodontic procedures into everyday practice while understanding their current limitations and future potential.

This webinar provides a comprehensive and evidence-based overview of regenerative endodontics, tracing its evolution from fundamental biological concepts to contemporary clinical practice. Participants will gain a clear understanding of the principles of tissue engineering, including the roles of stem cells, growth factors, and scaffolds in pulp–dentin regeneration. The session will cover appropriate case selection, current clinical protocols recommended by the American Association of Endodontists (AAE) and the European Society of Endodontology (ESE), irrigation strategies, intracanal medicaments, scaffold selection, and follow-up protocols. It will also discuss treatment outcomes, success criteria, common complications and their management, while critically appraising the latest scientific evidence and emerging innovations such as platelet concentrates, biomimetic scaffolds, and regenerative approaches in mature teeth. Through practical clinical insights and evidence-based recommendations, the webinar aims to equip participants with the knowledge and confidence to successfully incorporate regenerative endodontic procedures into contemporary dental practice.
