Dental implants are now commonly used for replacing missing teeth in various clinical situations. However, the possibility of placing dental implants is limited by the presence of adequate volume permitting their anchorage. In many clinical situations in particularly for edentulous patients with heavily resorbed jawbones and patients who underwent traumatic bone loss or resective surgery for benign or malignant oral tumours there is insufficient bone to allow implant placement. In such cases either bone augmentation procedure procedure is carried out or alternative technique planned for prosthetic rehabilitation. In today’s webinar, I will be discussing few cases wherein resection and augmentation done followed by bicortical implants placed and few cases where in resection without augmentation prosthetic rehabilitation done with bicortical implants.
