Post-operative pain following endodontic treatment remains one of the most common concerns for both clinicians and patients, often affecting patient satisfaction and confidence in care. Despite technically successful root canal therapy, pain may arise due to a combination of biological, mechanical, chemical, and occlusal factors. Understanding the etiology and expected pain patterns is essential for accurate diagnosis, Prevention of flare-ups, and appropriate clinical management.
This webinar will focus on the causes and mechanisms of post-endodontic pain, including apical extrusion of debris, over-instrumentation, irrigant-related tissue irritation, obturation variables, and occlusal discrepancies. Evidence-based preventive strategies and rational Pharmacologic management protocols will be discussed, with emphasis on differentiating normal post-operative discomfort from pathological pain requiring re-intervention. Practical clinical guidelines and patient communication strategies will also be highlighted to improve treatment outcomes and patient satisfaction.
