Teeth are subjected to various physiological wear and tear and pathological disease conditions that lead to a compromised dentition. Most common oral conditions in older patients are tooth loss, dental caries, periodontitis, and oral cancer. This can be coupled with tooth wear in the form of attrition, abrasion and erosion. Timely restorative and endodontic intervention can improve the oral health and thus the quality of life. The need of the hour is to create awareness, improve availability and accessibility of dental services to all sections of the aging population.
