ABCs of Implantology:

This basic implantology workshop aims at dentists who wants to get their hands trained on placing implants. This workshop deals in providing a wide array of knowledge ranging from the basics of implantology , the knowledge needed for anchoring the implants in the oral cavity and also how to deal with complications if any.

Train : Perform Surgical & Prosthetic Procedures on  Actual Patient & STL Models  

Do : Mentor Guided Live Surgery on Patients ( for all ABC participants – optional  ) to kick start Implantology from Day 1 in your practice

It is a three-day course and the course of events are as follows:

>>Day 1 : Science of Dental Implants , Diagnosis & Treatment Planning

>Morning Session 9.30 am to 1 noon

1. Science of osseointegration & Implantology.
2. Knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology of both maxilla and mandible , knowledge of tooth morphology and its implications in dentulous and edentulous situations
3. Bone Physiology of the bone. Classification of Bone quality and Resorption patterns
4. Case selection & treatment planning.
5. Diagnostic procedure-recent advances & various aids used for diagnosis.
6. Study models and Photographic records
7. Radiographic Evaluation – OPG & CBCT & Case planning

>Practicals : 2pm to 5pm

1. OPG Tracing & Reading

3. Surgical Guides

>>Day 2: Surgical Implant Protocols

>Morning Session 9.30 am to 1 noon

8. Implant Armamentarium , Implant Systems & instrumentation- .

1. Description of hand ,rotary & piezosurgery instruments
2. Implant surgical Protocols
3. Flap vs Flapless surgical procedures
4. Osteotomy Preparation
5. Minor Bone manipulative procedures in Implant osteotomy – Osseodensification
6. Various suture materials and suturing techniques
7. Single Piece Implants : Specific Indications & Surgical Protocols
8. Complete Implant prosthetic : Single Tooth Implant & Bridges on 2 to 3 implants

4.Flap Design in Goat Jaw
5.Drilling Protocols & Implant Placement in Goat Jaw
6.Suturing Techniques 

>>Day 3: Live surgical demo and hands-on patients

Live Implant placement demonstration to the participants in Anterior & posterior zone , Mentor Guided Implant Placement by the Participants
