Elevating Laser Dentistry in India

The Department of Prosthodontics at Dr. G. D. Pol Dental College and Hospital, PG Institute successfully hosted the ProsthoNova – Novolase Laser Workshop on 26th February 2026, in collaboration with Bharat Dental Show.

This high-impact academic event marked a significant milestone in promoting ethical, scientific, and hands-on laser education in India.

A dedicated hands-on training session was conducted for 100 interns, divided into two supervised groups.

Participants practiced on:

  • Tomatoes
  • Chicken breast tissue

This structured simulation model helped them understand:

  • Soft tissue management
  • Controlled ablation
  • Hemostasis
  • Aesthetic contouring

The hands-on exposure significantly boosted clinical confidence and practical understanding.

Live Patient Demonstration

A highlight of the event was the live patient demonstration featuring procedures such as:

  • Crown lengthening
  • Implant second-stage surgery
  • Lesion management
  • Tooth whitening

Postgraduate students from Prosthodontics, Pedodontics, Endodontics, Oral Medicine & Radiology, Oral Surgery, and Periodontics actively attended the demonstration.

The session showcased clinical precision, minimal invasiveness, patient comfort, and faster healing—demonstrating the true power of modern laser dentistry.
