After completing this lecture the participant will know what sort of medical emergencies can be encountered in dentistry, how to minimize early mortality & complications, how to evaluate the emergency services & demonstration of the emergency of quality need to reflect these objectives by appropriate choice of outcome measures.
A medical emergency in the dental office may be an unexpected event that can include accidental or willful bodily injury, central nervous system stimulation, and depression, respiratory and circulatory disturbances, as well as allergic reactions. Dentists must be prepared to manage medical emergencies which may arise in practice. After completing this lecture the participant will know how to react facing medical emergencies during their practice.
